Gretchen Wicker

Hello! I'm Gretchen! My love for Colorado began more than 30 years ago as my family moved from Washington State to Colorado Springs where I began attending Air Academy High School. My love continued to grow in 1993 as I purchased my very first home in the community of Briargate in beautiful Colorado Springs. Every morning as I walked up the staircase, I would stare in awe at the purple mountain majesty sunrise reflecting off of Pikes Peak. This image remains fresh in my memory to this day.

My family expanded, we sold our Colorado Springs home and moved to Arizona where I was a stay-at-home mother of 3 amazing children. As the children grew, I took on experiences of teaching my own kindergarten class (I had done my student teaching in Colorado Springs District 20), substitute teaching, being a registrar and teacher at a charter high school, owning and managing a mortgage brokerage, investing in and managing my own real estate properties. In 2004 I courageously began my own company for fixing and flipping real estate properties. I learned a lot and had great success. Unfortunately, we all felt the impact of the 2007-2008 real estate crisis; however, it wasn't long before I was back at it wholesaling residential real estate properties. With a desire to keep learning and growing in the real estate business, I obtained my Arizona real estate license in 2014.

In 2017, my children had been off in the world as adults for quite some time and I knew it was time for a change. I seized the opportunity to move back to Colorado and manage commercial and residential properties that my family owns. Unexpectedly, I ended up managing our family-owned automotive repair shop in Woodland Park. It was quite a change, as I knew very little about automotive repair!

Early in 2020 I decided to obtain my Colorado real estate license. I recently activated my license with EXIT Realty Pikes Peak. I have felt so welcome and supported. I am continually impressed with EXIT Realty's training, professionalism and expertise. I love how EXIT Realty so generously gives back to the community and is dedicated to putting people first. This is such a perfect fit for me!

My top priority in life has always been FAMILY!! Outside of my career in real estate, I volunteer with a global company that provides personal growth and development training. I am privileged to have been able to travel (pre-Covid times) to London, Canada and various locations throughout the United States to deliver these courses to young people, teenagers and their families. It truly has been the one of the most rewarding experiences in my life to be able to make a difference in the lives of young people, teenagers and their parents. I know the ripple effects will be seen in future generations forever.
