Shaunessye Curry

With more than a decade of residential and commercial real estate experience, Shaunessye Curry can empower you to make your real estate dreams come true. Her seasoned passion for helping individuals build wealth through property is backed up by her achievement of the Accredited Buyer?s Representative (ABR) and Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) industry honor designations. As a Chicago native, Shaunessye spent 4 years in Ohio obtaining her Bachelors degree in Health Care Administration and Sociology from Wilberforce University before returning back to obtain a Masters degree from the University of Chicago in Policy Administration and Management Information Systems. She worked for the United States Congress conducting health care audits and evaluations for over 30 years.

Shaunessye first entered the real estate arena by shadowing her mother, who was also a real estate broker and investor. Her mother challenged her to learn about rehabbing and flipping homes, hiring her to serve as the property manager of a 6 unit building in the south suburbs as a way to provide hands-on experience. This led Shaunessye to be prepared to purchase her own first investment property in Dolton, Illinois. That transaction, coupled with her mother?s mentorship, then led Shaunessye to obtain her Illinois real estate license in 2008.

Over the past 15 years, Shaunessye has helped dozens of families navigate the real estate process from property selection and contract negotiation to stellar marketing while providing sage advice on the overall market outlook. Her depth of experience in transactions includes condominiums, single family homes, and multi unit buildings including commercial apartment buildings. Outside of real estate, Curry takes pride in giving back to the community and serves as the 1st VP and Chair of Membership Services for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. ? Chicago Alumnae Chapter?a public service sisterhood that focuses on educational development, social action, international awareness, as well as physical and mental health.
