Edna Rutherford is a Chicago born & raised Realtor who has a unique perspective on what it takes to succeed in life and entrepreneurship. A single mom of 2 by age 17 on public aid at 19 Edna overcame many struggles to achieve not only her GED, but her college degree in accounting and went on to work at the University of Chicago in their accounting department, eventually becoming a supervisor. She purchased her first property at 27 years old and started multiple businesses including a laundromat on Chicago’s south side and a restaurant in Belleville Illinois. She also worked in the accounting department at Illinois Masonic & Addus Health Care working with seniors. She purchased her second property in 2018, continuing to strive to empower herself and build a legacy for her family.

As an adult, Edna has resided in the Auburn Gresham and Roseland communities on Chicago’s south side, and now calls the beautiful south suburb of Harvey, Illinois her home. She first obtained her real estate license in 1992, working for the famed FJ Williams Realty. Her son and daughter are now adults, and she enjoys her two grandsons immensely.
