Thomas Derrow

Real Estate has long been a passion of mine since I was a young boy of 12 years old. My parents bought their first apartment building then and I was thrown into the property management business and all that it entails immediately. As their Real Estate holdings grew to include multiple apartment complexes, my responsibilities grew accordingly including the acquisition component, which was my favorite aspect. I just knew that Real Estate sales were in my future dreams somewhere down the line. Beautiful, sunny, southwest Florida is where my dreams came alive here at Exit Gulf Coast Realty.

Hailing from just outside of Chicago, I was raised with the Midwest values of a good work ethic and respect for my elders while simultaneously being shown the spirit of entrepreneurship. I come from a family of entrepreneurs who have owned and managed real estate investment properties, among other things, since I was a preteen.

I attended Indiana University in beautiful Bloomington Indiana where I received multiple degrees, including a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and also Finance.

My career began in the corporate world of accounting where I moved up the ladder from staff accountant to controller to CFO within five years. During this time, the entrepreneurship with which I was raised was lurking in the background, and I decided to branch out on my own and launch a consulting and tax preparation company.

It was this tax preparation company that initially got me involved in the real estate business as an adult. It was a natural progression from tax preparation to becoming a mortgage broker, which I have been for the better part of 20 years. The same natural progression provided the opportunity for me to make the foray into real estate sales.

I intend to provide all of my Real Estate clients with the same highly personalized and detailed service that has made me successful in all of my past career endeavors.
