A larger bar was built in the bedroom area, the fireplace lounge and swimming pool were filled in to create a larger lounge and dining areas. A skylight with live trees and plants were added in the center of the building. The restaurant was considered a notable stop for travelers passing through Barstow, particularly those traveling along Route 66.
