Windy Creek Wildlife Refuge This refuge was created by its current owners to enhance the wildlife habitat as much as possible. In that light, they have removed most of the old barbed wire fencing, removed berries and brush by mechanical means, no herbicides or pesticides have been used on this ranch for the past ten years, and have trimmed and thinned the forested parts of the property. They also added quad trails through much of the property for easy access to almost every corner. Trout, beavers, otters and bald eagles inhabit the two year-round creeks and wildlife abounds including a small herd of elk that visit the property regularly.
